The God of Small Things

Finally found a good book from the library..all else are stupid love stories which I cannot bear to read anymore. Love this book though at first I had to get used to the author's writing style. The characters are well developed that you fall in love with them. I cried at least once while reading the book. It tells the story about a set of twins and their family in India. Go and read it!

Bound Feet & Western Dress

I'm not one to read books on history so I'm glad that I found this book. Without actually having to read a history book I still get to learn a bit about China's history and the people's culture and traditions. Love this book. It's a nicely narrated story about a woman's struggle in China in the early 1900s.

The Nosy Neighbour

An easy read but the story is so far away from reality,a little bit too much like a fairy tale where just about anything can happen. Nothing interesting about this book. Bland.

The Chili Queen

I loveeeeeee this book...very entertaining and full of twists. The characters are interesting and funny. Can't believe I read a Western novel. The Chili Queen is actually a hook house and the story revolves around Addie, the owner of the place.

I rate this book 10/1o. By zammm! :)

The Chatam School Affair

Didn't really enjoy this book. Not much of a mystery or a love story. I found it difficult to start the book and I wasn't finished with it until about a week. Though I must be the minority because this book got nominated for the Edgar Award. Huhu...why?

Is kissing a girl who smokes like licking an ashtray?

Though this book is meant for young adults I enjoyed reading it. Love the characters. The story is about Biff the nerd and how he has a hard time with girls. Basic plot but great characters.

Mine are spectacular!

I was just expecting a silly book when I picked this up at the MPH warehouse sale. Where in Malaysia can you find a paperback for only RM9?! It's usually RM26 or more! So people with no pay like yours truly only buy books at the hot and humid warehouse sale or borrow from the library (hot and humid at times). Loved this book, I love the main character because she's so positive and adventurous ( I read a lot but still have trouble with spelling! Please help!) I always try to be more positive and try harder to be more adventurous. Really, the cover does not do justice to the book.

I'd rate the book 8.5/10

Always and Forever

Enjoyed this book. The main characters are three women, all with different issues to deal with. I don't think any men would enjoy this book but I think it's a really good chick lit :) The three women deal with issues that I can relate to now or some other point in my life. Especially about being a working mother and dealing with the guilt of not being with your kids. I never really shared my feelings with friends whom I feel truly understand the guilty feeling. It feels nice to have something in common with another person albeit a fictional one..hehe

The mermaid chair

Loved this book. It was a refreshing read after reading so many murder mysteries and thrillers. Sue Monk Kidd writes beautifully. Should I read The Secret Life of the Bees or watch the movie? After reading Twilight the movie to me was worse than terrible. So I don't want to spoil the movie experience by reading the book cause Oprah loved the bee movie..and I trust Oprah. :)

The only downside to the book is the woman's infidelity. It's something I prefer not to read about. Haha, but really couldn't avoid it as it's a big part of what the book is about. Itula amik buku kat library tak baca synopsis. :)

Overall it'd give it an 8/10.
